Creating First Class Brands

Respected in their industry for both quality and innovation, brothers Joe and John Lanni have created several unique and successful restaurant concepts, making up the Thunderdome Restaurant Group portfolio. Their passion for restaurants began by watching their father Nick, founder of Great Steak and Potato, grow the business from one to 285 locations.

Joe and John spent countless hours learning the business from the inside out, giving them insight to someday create their own restaurant group. And that they did. Starting with Currito in 2005, pushing beyond Mexican cuisine, the brothers expanded Currito’s focus to meet the changing palate of diners – focusing on bowls, salads, and smoothies.

Fast forward 7 years and nearly a dozen locations later, the group added to their lineup and opened a new concept, Bakersfield. With the addition of the Bakersfield concept, and a deep passion for unbeatable service and first-class food, Thunderdome Restaurant Group (TRG) was born.

Today, TRG manages a growing lineup of leading brands spanning nearly 50 locations including Bakersfield, The Eagle, Currito, Citybird, Sohi, Maplewood, Kruegers, and Pepp and Dolores. The brothers attribute their success to always putting the customer first and working hard to provide real value - which has helped them stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Our Criteria

We are currently seeking experienced single, and multi-unit partners to build out the markets in the United States. You or your Operating Partner should have a proven track record as an owner or operator in QSR, fast casual, or full service restaurant.

We look for partners who demonstrate the enthusiasm, drive, and passion required to operate a Currito to the highest standards.​
